Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!  I hope all of you had a safe and healthy summer.  I am looking forward to a great year with your children.  Once again we have some exciting projects planned for this school year.  Gwen Wilson will continue to be our awesome para-professional.  Debbie Lehmann will be our new speech therapist in our AM class and Marti Shedron will be our new speech therapist in our PM class.

We will have Show and Share every Thursday.  Your child may bring something that fits in their backpack to share with the class.  Once again we are relying on our parents to provide snack for the children.  We will be sending a monthly snack calendar home with your child’s name highlighted on their week to bring snack (cereal, crackers, pretzels, fruit, cookies, etc.).  Please do NOT send snack that contains PEANUT BUTTER.  You do not have to send a drink, as we provide water for the children.

In September, we will begin working on an Alphabet letter a week along with various themes throughout the year.   When learning about themes or a new letter, we will make art projects, play games, or even cook!!

We are asking that each child bring a backpack (regular size if possible so items do not get ruined) to school every day.  Inside the backpack please keep a CHANGE OF CLOTHES (very important) and the folder you received at Open House.  This folder will ensure that important papers get where they need to be.  Also, the ECSE requires children to wear closed-toe shoes when playing on the playground.

As always we will be working on pre-academics, speech, language, fine/gross motor, self-help and behavioral skills in our classroom.

I am very excited about this school year and looking forward to providing your child with a safe and nurturing environment.  If you have any questions for me or anyone working in the ECSE center, please contact us at 636-282-5184.
